Ben Tyhurst has over 25 years experience as a professional musician and is a passionate performer, educator, composer, and director. Ben is currently serving as a trumpet teacher based in Central New Jersey, more specifically Lawrenceville, NJ between Princeton and Trenton. Ben is dedicated to teaching private trumpet lessons to students who are determined, willing to take chances, and work hard to meet goals at a rapid pace.
Since moving to New Jersey in September 2016, Ben has been involved in Princeton-Rider Brass Band, Sinfonietta Nova, Whitehouse Wind Symphony, and Rider Brass Band. Ben has also just been offered a position in the trumpet section of Eastern Wind Symphony and plans to begin with them in Fall 2017 Season.
Ben performs exclusively on B-flat trumpet, C-trumpet, E-flat Soprano Cornet, Piccolo trumpet (B-flat/A), and Flugelhorn. He also dabbles on Shofar when occasion calls for it.
